    HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE SERVICES
HOMEWORKLOUISIANA (HomeworkLa.org), a service of the State Library of Louisiana, offers FREE online tutoring and academic resources from Tutor.com for Louisiana residents from kindergarten students through adult learners. Get help in math, science, social studies or English from a live tutor. The services can be accessed from a Louisiana public library, from your home computer or from your mobile device.

Monday, October 23RD– Friday, October 27TH has been designated as Red Ribbon Week at Carver Elementary.  Our theme this year is “MY FUTURE MATTERS – I’M DRUG FREE!”  We have a fun-filled week of activities planned for our students.  Each day of the week students will be allowed to wear a special item to show their support for being “Drug Free” and for pledging to “Stand Up Against Bullies”.  As always, we appreciate your support in making our students the best they can be at Carver. 

 

Below is a list of activities planned for the week:

 

MONDAY

 

RED RIBBON WEEK KICKOFF!

“WE AREN’T CRAZY…WE ARE “RED”Y

TO STAND UP AGAINST DRUGS

AND

BULLIES!”

CRAZY HAIR – RED SHIRT!

  • Students may spray/paint/color their hair, wear wig, etc.
  • Students may wear a red shirt!
  • Students must wear uniform pants, HOWEVER they may wear JEANS if they bring at least 1 canned good to donate to God’s Food Box!Drop off the food item in the cafeteria upon arrival!
  • Shirts must be tucked in and belts worn!

TUESDAY

“STAY IN THE GAME…BE DRUG FREE!”

TEAM JERSEY

  • Students may wear their favorite team jersey.
  • Students must wear uniform pants.
  • Shirts must be tucked in and belts worn!

WEDNESDAY

“WE GIVE DRUGS THE BOOT”

WESTERN DAY

  • Students may wear western wear of their choice to school (cowboy hats, boots, etc.)
  • Shirts must be tucked in and belts worn!

THURSDAY

“50’S DAY!”

HAPPY 50TH DAY OF SCHOOL

  • Students may wear poodle skirts, rolled up jeans, leather jackets, etc.

CLASSROOM DOOR DECORATING CONTEST WILL BE JUDGED!

FRIDAY

PEP RALLY IN THE GYM (Students only)

“I CAN BE ANYTHING I WANT TO BE…IF I CHOOSE TO BE DRUG FREE!!”

PROFESSIONAL DAY

  • Dress as the professional of your choice (policeman, fireman, doctor, nurse, teacher, laborer, fisherman, farmer, musician, chef, etc.)
  • No superheroes, fictional characters, or costumes please!
  • Encourage students to dress like who they want to be when they grow up.
  • Shirts must be tucked in and belts worn!
